Provided Information - Standards
ERIC-Operational-Management defined in 2002 a minimum standard for provided informations, which is meanwhile
also accepted on EU-level in a recommendation to the European Commission.
Minimum definition of road-incidents for paneuropean use:
- Traffic jams with a minimum length of 10 kilometres, independent from raison
- Road closures because of road works, weather conditions, accidents etc. with a minimum duration
of one hour
- Over all bad or inefficiant traffic conditions caused by weather, strikes etc., which cause an
estimated delay of minimum 30 minutes compared to normal driving times between A and B.
- All kind of road works with a minimum duration of 4 hours, in case of lane closure with
minimum duration of 2 hours.
- Border waiting times with a minimum duration of 45 minutes
Minimum road network covered through this definitions:
- Complete highway-network of every ERIC-member-country
- Network of main national roads, which are important for middle- and long-dstance connections
- Main crossing roads in urban areas with a population of more than 100.000
- Main mountain-passes, which are important for middle- and long-distaqnce connections or touristic
relevant areas (for example Swiss and Austrian skiing areas)
- Main road network in touristic areas (for example Adriatic coast)
